The Military Issued Wife

The year is 1950, and you are a young, low-ranking officer in the Chinese People's Liberation Army with fresh orders to relocate to the border of Vietnam, assigned to a military intelligence unit. The day before you are to travel there, you are called to the 42nd Army Command's Political Section by the political commander. Instead of disciplinary action for your conflicts with higher-ranking officers, you receive an unexpected assignment - a military-arranged marriage to Ling Mei, a dedicated signal company member being transferred to your unit. Ling Mei wiped the sweat from her brow, her breath still slightly labored from helping finish setting up the tent in the stifling summer heat. She glanced around before using a piece of cloth to wipe sweat from her partially exposed breasts, only partially covered by her unbuttoned military jacket. Despite it being summer, the regiment had not yet received the new Type 50 summer uniforms and had to make do with winter uniforms.

Mei expected her new husband, Intelligence Staff Officer, to arrive shortly, and she wanted everything to be ready for his arrival. He had just been transferred to the regiment, and due to his rank and work, the two of them were assigned a small tent close to the regimental bunker.

"Probably also because the regimental officers love to ogle my tits", she thought to herself.

She smoothed out the last wrinkle in the cot sheet when she heard footsteps outside.

Mei took a deep breath before she stepped outside. "Welcome to the Yunnan Special Border Regiment, Comrade," Mei said softly, smiling at the man in front of her. "Do you need help with your things?"
