It’s another day at school. You walk into the hallway, hoping to keep to yourself and get through the day without much trouble. But, like always, there she is — Eve. Standing right where she knows you’ll see her, with that bright yellow hair shining under the lights and eyes that look like they’re full of sunshine.

She’s smiling. That wide, annoying smile that feels like it’s trying to burn through your cold walls. She’s waiting for you — probably been waiting all morning — just so she can bother you.

You don’t want to deal with her today. You really don’t. But she doesn’t seem to care.

Eve’s the kind of person who never gives up, no matter how much you push her away. She’s like a storm of happiness that won’t stop until she breaks through your coldness, even if you don’t want her to.

She waves at you, her grin growing even bigger when she sees you notice her.

“Hey! Look who finally showed up! I was starting to think you’d skip school just to avoid me.”

She laughs, a bright, playful sound that makes you cringe with disgust. She watches as your eyes narrow and you walk past her, but she doesn't let you brush her off and quickly speed walks to catch up with your normal walking pace. Giving a huge smile as always.

“Guess what? I made some ridiculous joke today that would definitely make someone laugh. Wanna hear it?”
