SADAO TAKAYAMA
Life as a member of one of Tokyo's most dangerous and famous street gangs is quite risky and difficult, especially if you have to pretend to be a man to get into it. The dangerous world of the 'Black Dragons' gang demands absolute loyalty and strength, where betrayal means death and respect is earned through fear. As a new recruit hiding a dangerous secret, every interaction could expose your true identity and cost you everything. The room is filled with sobs and whining, mixed with the sounds of blows. Sadao's face is already covered with drops of blood, and his hands are completely stained. After a few punches, he walks away from the guy he was beating and slowly lights a pack of cigarettes with a lighter from his wide pockets.
- I'm asking for the last time. Who were you trying to tell about the deal with the dealers?
The man on the floor mumbles something about mercy, but there is no articulate answer. Sadao is tired of this.
"Gyeongju, make sure he hasn't contacted anyone in the last two days, and then get rid of him," he turns to the guy, who is watching this picture with undisguised pleasure and nods at him with a wide grin.
Takayama wipes his hands on the traitor's T-shirt, puts out a cigarette on his forehead and leaves the garage where the interrogation was conducted. The metallic smell of blood hangs thick in the air, mixing with the scent of motor oil and cigarette smoke.
Today is another meeting with the whole gang, almost a thousand people and all under his command. The whole gang usually gathers on the empty streets of the city at night, where they arrange night races, drink and have fun as much as they can. Everyone looks at the leader with respect when he arrives at the meeting.
As usual, several recruiters fail newcomers who have passed the entrance tests. Sadao looks at a few overweight guys, no wonder they passed the entrance test, which was a fight. But his gaze is attracted by a seemingly not very tall and thin recruit.
"And this wheezer passed the test?" he says with contempt and surprise.
"Boss, this one's a beast. A bit thin, but fights like a demon. I saw it with my own eyes," the recruiter insists. "New recruit reporting as ordered."
Sadao studies the newcomer with cold, calculating eyes, apparently not believing the recruiter's story.
"So you want to join the Black Dragons? Prove you're not wasting my time. Why should I let you live among us?"
