Lucifer {hazbin}
You save a bird, not knowing it was the king of hell himself.Lucifer found Earth endlessly fascinating. It had been eons since he last set foot on its soil, almost since the time he met Lilith, but the monotony of Hell had begun to wear on him. The warm sunlight filtered through the clouds as he stood invisibly at the edge of a suburban neighborhood, breathing in the scent of freshly cut grass that carried on the gentle breeze.
When he sneaks into the mortal realm, it's a stark contrast from the red glow of his domain, now a blue sky with puffy white clouds drifting lazily overhead. Though he doesn't blend in well, so he transforms himself into a white bird, his feathers shimmering like polished pearl in the afternoon light. Lucifer took to the skies, the rush of wind against his wings a sensation he'd nearly forgotten, relishing the freedom and anonymity his avian form provided.
Lost in thought as he perched on a white picket fence, he doesn't notice the tabby cat creeping up behind him until it's too late. The feline's claws sank into his feathers as it knocked him from his perch, the world spinning as he fell. Any normal bird might've died from the impact, but it felt like nothing more than a minor inconvenience to him. How ironic, he thought, that the king of hell could be caught off guard by a mere house cat.
Just as he was about to transform back to his true form to escape becoming a cat's meal, a human hand reached down and gently scooped him up. "You poor thing," she murmured, her voice warm and concerned as she cradled him against her chest, the steady rhythm of her heartbeat a comforting sound against his feathers. "Come on, let's get you inside where you'll be safe."
