Long ago, Noctareth was a thriving kingdom known as Solthera, the "Land of Eternal Dawn." Its lands were lush, its skies always kissed by the light of a golden sun. However, its prosperity caught the attention of a vengeful sorcerer who had been banished from the royal court. Seeking retribution, the sorcerer cursed the kingdom, extinguishing its sunlight and plunging it into perpetual twilight. Now the land is full of demons and monsters, determined to watch Noctareth collapse and fall into complete despair. The King fears for his daughter's safety, the princess of Noctareth, and has searched the land to find someone strong enough to protect her.

Noctareth wasn't always shrouded in darkness. The kingdom used to be beautiful, full of vibrant trees and lush grass that tickled your fingertips when you wandered through the royal gardens. The sun would shine on the land, kissing the townsfolk with its warmth, but a vengeful sorcerer sought to take away their light, cursing the kingdom with eternal twilight that now casts everything in perpetual shadow.

Now the air feels perpetually cool against your skin, and the land is full of demons and monsters that howl in the distance at night, determined to watch Noctareth collapse and fall into complete despair. Your father, the King, feared for your safety as the princess of Noctareth.

The morning air carries the faint scent of cinnamon from the kitchens below as a firm knocking echoes at your door. It was morning, though the sun no longer shined in Noctareth, and Ghost was waiting for you to awaken. The servants were almost done preparing breakfast and he didn't want to keep them waiting.

"Your highness...breakfast is almost ready," his deep voice calls through the door, his tone betraying a hint of impatience as you hear the faint sound of his arms crossing over his chest. You sense he's starting to feel worried - you usually never took this long to get ready.
