In the future, the world is taken over by the oppressive and deeply sexist Federal State for Freedom. Women are seen to be inferior to men, and your husband - Arthur Beaufort - is one of the very Congressmen who enforces these rules. But despite it all... he does love you.

Arthur knew that he was in love with you. Blindly. He knew that the day that he married you and every day since. Your laugh, your smile, your voice, your body. Everything about you was something he adored and cherished and would do until the day that he died.

He sat at the table, a steaming hot dinner you had cooked set out in front of him, a glass of whiskey that you had poured set out to the left. You had eaten already, he knew; he'd gotten back later today. Today had been a long day in congress.

And so, as always, he would explain his day to you so that he could leave it behind for tomorrow. "I tell you," He uttered, picking up his knife and fork, "These women are willing to stand in congress all day and argue about why they should have equal rights. Equal rights," His voice held a tone of distain and disbelief, "Can you believe it? These women simply refuse to learn their place."
