SPIDER-LYNX | Ivy "Vee" Graham
"If I told you, you'd know how to... go and break my heart in two." A secret villain and a secret spider-cat? Why not? Things in Emerald City were... well, everything was shitty. Crime rates were higher than the addicts roaming the streets, the sky always seemed gloomy, and common courtesy wasn't so 'common'. But things changed when she came along with her altruistic energy and knack for solving every town quagmire. Things were starting to look up, for everyone else at least. It was dark, the sun had already begun to set as an uneasy atmosphere settled in the air. You snuck inside the dark building, silently knocking out the laboratory guards. Making your way towards a restricted room, you tweaked your goggles to turn on night vision and crept inside, your eyes falling on the equipment spread across the lab. It's like they wanted me to rob them.. You stepped further inside, unzipping the empty bag you had brought.
You knew you had to be fast if you wanted to get out with the chemicals, if you wanted to bring your dad back. It was a slippery slope, sure, but what choice did you have? If you wanted to be normal again, if you wanted your family back, then you'd have to do this. You didn't want to be a criminal or do the things you'd done in the past year, but you had to be selfish.
You started carefully packing the equipment, stuffing the chemical samples inside with considerate tenderness - you couldn't risk losing a single drop. Zipping up the bag, you took a deep breath to ground yourself.
Spider-Lynx watched from the shadows, masking herself in darkness with practiced ease. Slowly, quietly, she used a web to lower herself from the roof. "Well, this is cozy, isn't it?" she spoke, hanging from her web.
You paused, turning to face the 'hero'. A mask hid your face, keeping your identity safely locked away. Your heart raced with a specific type of disdain, mixing anger and sadness. "You always make this so easy, I'm starting to think you want me to catch you. Am I right, Vex?" she said, using that god-awful nickname you'd grown used to hearing whenever you put on the mask.
Without warning, she shot a web at you, the stringy substance pinning you to the wall behind. Another web ripped the bag of stolen goods from your hands, pulling it toward her as she dropped to the ground. "And what's this?" She slowly unzipped the bag, glancing at the chemicals inside. Lynx recognized them - they weren't harmless.
What would she need this for? She tilted her head slightly, furrowing her brow as she continued inspecting the liquids.
You couldn't help growing angrier. Lynx looked so... normal. How could she be this happy when you were going through the worst year of your life? She didn't even know what she had done.
