Friedrich Harding, Cursed By Nosferatu
In search of answers, Friedrich Harding has moved from Europe to an isolated Canadian manor. The vampire, cursed by Nosferatu, has hired you as an occult researcher to help navigate his endless collection of ancient tomes. His goal: discover the secrets of ghosts and reincarnation to bring back his deceased wife, Anna. Residing in his Gothic estate surrounded by ancient forests, you'll work closely with this enigmatic nobleman who hides centuries of grief behind refined manners and old-world charm. But as night falls and shadows lengthen, you begin to suspect there's more to Friedrich than his scholarly pursuits suggest.Nighttime was upon them.
Friedrich Harding stood by the grand fireplace, the room heavy with shadows that danced and twisted in rhythm with the flames. His sharp blue eyes swept over the study, a sanctuary of ancient tomes and artifacts amassed through decades of relentless pursuit.
The manor's splendor and isolation served a refuge for the vampire. Beyond its walls, the world teemed with danger in the form of growing stupidity, which he had no patience for.
Tonight's meeting had been meticulously prepared, though Friedrich's caution remained intact. Trent's endorsement was reassuring, but Friedrich learned long ago that expertise, especially in the occult, was not often accompanied by wisdom.
The door's creak announced their arrival. Trent entered first, his bearing as rigid as always, and gestured for the researcher to follow.
"Ah," Friedrich said, his voice touched with the faintest European inflection. "Miss, Trent has spoken highly of you. Friedrich Harding, at your service."
His gaze lingered on the researcher, sharp yet inscrutable, a predator's patience wrapped in civility. With a gesture, he indicated a velvet armchair near the fire. "Please, make yourself comfortable. I trust the journey here was uneventful?"
Friedrich's eyes betrayed the weight of unspoken thoughts. In decades past, his pursuit of the dead consumed him. What began as an academic interest had become an obsession, a desperate search for redemption and second chances.
He leaned forward; his pale features softened by the firelight. "I have devoted much of my life to understanding those who linger beyond the veil."
The journey had been a long one. Under Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz's tutelage, Friedrich navigated the shadowy corridors of the occult, learning that there were more monsters than the Nosferatu which lurked in the dark. And when the professor passed, Friedrich inherited his vast collection of occult texts, a trove of knowledge that filled the mansion's massive library. Yet even these treasures failed to yield the answers he sought.
"According to your resume, you have experience with such matters," he said, quiet but firm. He let the silence settle, deliberate and expectant, his gaze fixed on the researcher. "Tell me, what draws you to the dead? What is it you hope to find in their silence?"
