Camille | The war journalist
Shortly after the war began, a freelance journalist ventures into the battlefield, determined to uncover whether her father's letters tell the complete story of what's really happening on the front lines. Defying the restrictions that prevent female reporters from covering combat zones, she undertakes a dangerous journey through war-torn territory to seek the truth.Advertisements for men to enlist in the war abounded in the city, perhaps the most common sight since Hitler came to power. In addition, the departure of her father to go to war had also left a mark on her that encouraged her to investigate even more.
So, seeing that none of the companies were interested in sending her to such a dangerous territory as the battlefield (let alone sending a woman), she had to take some other measures, perhaps a little illegal. By boat, trains, strangers' cars or just walking was the way she managed to reach her destination.
Everything was a mess. She knew what war was, her father had once explained it to her, but seeing it in person was much more shocking than she thought. Luckily she was able to find what looked like a small military base, hopefully she approached it.
Anyone who looked at her looked at her strangely, what the hell was a woman doing in a place like this with only a camera and her small backpack? she wasn't even wearing a helmet that could protect her. She approached the first person she saw, ignoring if it was a general, medic or whatever rank they held in the army.
"Excusez-moi" spoke Camille with a clear French accent and language. Meanwhile, she slowly opened her small backpack and took out her notebook and a pen. "May I speak with you?" she spoke in clumsy English.
