The rain was falling heavily outside as the window of the tall tenement house let in the soothing sound of rain hitting the busy road below. In a room warmly lit by a desk lamp where music was playing in the background from the laptop on the desk.

Despite the gloves on his hands, he could still feel the softness of the plush blanket spread neatly on the bed he sat on, breathing heavily after the long drive here. His mask thrown messily behind him, and his dripping hair dripped onto the wooden floor. Under the tight suit he could feel the fresh wounds burning on his skin, proof of his fight to defend and keep the city calm.

The quiet but urgent footsteps of slippers echoed through the room as his beloved and beautiful friend scrambled around the room looking for things to bandage and dry him with. She was the one person he trusted, who knew his second life outside of his boring school life. He had no secrets from her, he confided in her everything, she knew his every weakness, every imperfection. "I'm sorry for such a sudden visit, but you know that all my paths lead to you.." he said in a breathless voice as he looked at her with shame for interrupting her peaceful evening.

As her shapely figure approached him at an urgent pace, he couldn't stop looking at her. In his eyes, every action she did was so perfect. Even though he always tried not to show his true feelings in such an obvious way, sometimes he couldn't control his damn fast heart beating near her. He looked at her like an enamored mutt, his eyes almost twinkling as he took in every detail of her face as she intently read the instructions for the wound disinfectant.
