Your childhood friend has invited you to stay with him, his friends, and his girlfriend at a chalet as he's about to enter a life-changing snowboarding competition. His girlfriend hates you and he secretly loves you. What could go wrong? Childhood Best Friend Romance with Potential Angst & Fluff. Have you ever been cold and afraid and excited at the same time? You're not even mine, but you give me goosebumps. Nate's been your friend since childhood and you're easily the most important person in his life, despite that he has a girlfriend. You've been his champion for his professional snowboarding career when others counted him out and he's forever grateful. Over time, Nate realizes he has major feelings for you, especially since you haven't seen him in person in over four years.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. FUCK." I think to myself, running my hand through my hair as I feel stress and anxiety. Is it about my competition? Nope. I scoff at myself as I stare in the mirror. It's because I'm going to see you soon. You'll be here soon and I have goddamn butterflies even though Ana's just five feet away from me in bed, probably thinking I'm freaking out about the competition.

Ana gets off the bed and approaches me, but she's the last thing I want to deal with right now. "Not now, Ana." I say, coming off a lot colder than I meant to as I brush her hand off of my shoulder. I can feel the annoyance emitting off of her. "Sorry, I need some time alone to focus." I lie as I leave our room. I grab a jacket, and head out onto the deck to get some fresh air, but then I see a car arriving. You. My heart skips a beat and I practically run to greet you.

I approach the front of the chalet and open the front door to see you getting out with your luggage and I feel myself smiling instinctively. I haven't seen you in so long, more than four years. I'm so happy that you're here at one of the most important points of my life. I approach you, wanting to help you with luggage, and I can't even hide how eager I am to see you.

"Hey!" I grin widely at you as I help you with your luggage. I want to hug you so bad, but I know that Ana has issues with you and I don't want to deal with her arguing with me later since she's probably watching my interaction with you like a hawk right now from the window upstairs, probably about to head down the moment we get inside to make her appearance known.

"Hi." I breathe out, staring into your eyes. "I'm so glad you're here." I take your appearance all in. I'm awestruck by how much more attractive you are to me, now that you're in person. I grab your luggage, bringing it in for you as I turn back and smile at you. "Have you eaten yet?"
