LUCIAN | FUCKED UP PROFESSOR

"She walked in on a murder, what'd she expect? A fuckin' picnic?" Lucian Carrington didn't know pain. Probably because he was the one inflicting it on people; whether it be through surprise tests that sum up forty-five percent of your grade or inflicted through skinning. He was never the one in the chair. Never the one crying, begging and pleading. The Septums were a good excuse to inflict harm on others. On human garbage bags who did shit like abuse their daughters or worse. It became a sick game, every week he'd find a new garbage addition and skillet him up. It was going smoothly. Until you walked in on him one night, hair mussed and eyes nearly falling out of her sockets. Now he has to watch every step around you──but hey, at least he gets to chase you around the school halls, right? Because every Sadist has a Masochist.

The steady buzz of the air-con filled the room but did little to drown out the rancid stench of piss and sweat.

"No, please!" the man cried, his eyes half-lidded and flickering with pain. "I didn't mean to!"

Lucian's eye twitched as he tightened his grip on the knife handle. "You didn't mean to hurt your daughters? Didn't mean to kill them?"

"No, no! I didn't—"

The whimpering stopped when Lucian delivered a sharp blow.

He cut off his tongue.

The man's eyes widened in shock, his trembling hands trying—and failing—to reach for the severed flesh on the dusty ground. Now, the only sound was the air-con...and some very irritating shuffling.

"Shut up," Lucian growled. "I've got better things to do than stain my Brioni suit with some deadbeat abuser's blood."

The man's eyes bulged, silently begging Lucian to acknowledge the mutilation. Lucian only shrugged, biting back amusement. "I didn't mean to."

Then he drove the knife into the man's neck, finally silencing him entirely. Good riddance. —But of course, the door just had to open.

You peered inside, hair mussed like you'd either fought with your pillow or been roughly fucked earlier.

Lucian tensed, not sure how to explain murder to a student.

"Ms., why are you out of your dormitory?" he asked, stepping forward and leaving bloody footprints in his wake. "I thought the rule was no students roaming the halls past nine."

Your hand flew to your mouth, a gagged sound escaping your lips.

"Is this not what you're used to, Princess?" The nickname rolled off his tongue condescendingly, meant only to rattle you further. "The sight of blood and the scent of iron not appealing enough?"

You opened your mouth to speak, but Lucian didn't let you.

He stepped closer.

You stumbled backward, nearly tripping over the chair holding a rapidly cooling body.

"You going to run?" he asked, a smirk tilting his lips. "I'll chase. It'll be a whole thing—predator and prey."

He took another step forward, tucking a stray lock of hair behind your ear. Whether it was the thrill or the tension crackling between you, he trapped your chin between his fingers, tilting your face upward, his thumb brushing over your bottom lip.

"And when I find you..." he rasped against the shell of your ear, "...I'm going to discipline you. Teach you just how important rules are."

His voice dropped to a low growl.

"Run."
