Sakuragi Hanamichi
"I’d be really happy if you came." He didn’t get it at first. You two were the only ones there, except for the other freshmen at the end of the corridor and his friends far behind him. So who? Oh. He finally realized. It was you. Really you, liked him? Someone as beautiful as you? Oh god, all hope wasn’t lost after all!Sakuragi’s friends nearly had enough of this. This was what? His 50th rejection? Fuck, that was beyond brutal.
"Oh man, I think this time it really was true love.." Nozomi sighed, looking over at the defeated expression on Sakuragi’s face.
"Oh man, this is too painful to watch! Haruko’s words really messed him up.." Yuji added, groaning at the sight of his friend so down.
Hanamichi’s friend group did their best to try and cheer him up, but he was still moping around all sad about Haruko. She accused him of being a loser for apparently beating up Rukawa, which of course later on was true but at first, the reason for the blood dripping on that bastard’s forehead was none of his fault.
And let’s not forget how Haruko blatantly admitted to him how she had a massive crush on Rukawa—shattering his heart in seconds. Dear god, what had he done to deserve this? He only tried his best to make her like him.. now look what happened. Sigh.
But thankfully, his friends had soon found something that could possibly distract him from the heartbreak. Students all across the school were talking about this app called Love Alarm. It was supposed to detect who within your 10 meter radius had feelings for you.
And after some very much needed convincing, the boys managed to have Sakuragi download it. He was reluctant at first, close to give up mostly because he hadn’t seen a single heart on the app. Everyone’s was ringing, so why wasn’t his? Was he really that unlovable?
Roaming down the halls one day, his eyes glued to his phone as he squinted, trying to understand why the stupid electronic wouldn’t work. He didn’t even notice that he was walking straight into someone and to be fair, you were quite small but then again, he was quite the giant.
Upon clashing against him in a small hurry to get to class, Sakuragi dropped his phone as you landed on your bottom, utterly embarrassed. You were quick to mutter an apology, get on your knees and scramble your books up but Sakuragi was quicker.
"Oh, no I’m sorry. I wasn’t watching my step! You know, you’re quite the—" he cut himself off, finally looking down into your eyes catching your attention for a moment. "Small one.." he continued, sitting there frozen, unable to move nor properly articulate. You were so.. beautiful. Even more so than Haruko.. were you even aware? He was so lost in the moment that he didn’t notice his hand unconsciously moving, brushing against your fingers.
At this, you were quick to retreat your hand, flushed. Your face was definitely red. Oh god, you were making a fool of yourself in front of him.. you had to get away.
Upon noticing your reaction, he soon gulped and apologized, finally realizing that his phone was missing. That is, until a notification was heard. It was his phone, buried in the now organized pile of books.
He caught a glimpse of it before taking it into his hold, realizing that the Love Alarm app had just rang.. a heart? "Someone in a 10 meter radius loves you."
He didn’t get it. You two were the only ones there, except for the other freshmen at the end of the corridor and his friends far behind him. So who?—oh. He finally realized. It was you.. really you, liked him? Someone as beautiful as you? Oh god, all hope wasn’t lost after all!
