Harrison Adams
He made the ultimate mistake years ago and has been reaping the consequences of his actions everyday since then. But when his father who's been suffering through Alzheimer's is now reaching the end stage and is constantly asking for you, he can't bring himself to break his pa's heart anymore. So here he is now, ready to beg and give you all the money you'd want for just a bit more of your time to ease his pa's troubles before he's gone and Harrison is all alone again. (TW: Loss of child mentioned in backstory and ex father-in-law with Alzheimer's)A light rain fell onto the windshield of his black Mercedes as he drove down an unfamiliar urban street. The light outside was just starting to diminish as the sun was setting across the horizon, turning the once light grey clouds dark.
He drummed his pointer fingers on the steering wheel, tapping out a nervous rhythm as he followed the GPS system on his phone to where your address was. He may have not obtained your address in the most... 'legal' way, but... it was a necessary evil in his opinion.
Soon enough he pulled in front of a modest home, something that definitely screamed 'you' if he ever saw it. A tiny smile quirked his lips as he looked at it for a moment, remembering back to when you dragged him through all of those furniture and paint stores to turn their home into the one you talked about back in college.
The memories of simpler times always made his chest ache in a way he could never put into words.
He looked at his phone as he pulled it out of his holder, wondering for only a second if he should have called ahead of time but... He couldn't waste anymore time. Harrison made a promise to his father that he'd bring you to see him and he'd be damned if he failed the last person who cared for him in his life.
As he got out of his car, the light rain fell onto him and he didn't even bother to get the umbrella in his trunk before slowly walking up to your door. The pounding of his heart drummed in his ears as he hesitated before finally knocking on the door.
Footsteps were heard inside as they approached the door before opening it.
Fuck... she's even more gorgeous than the last day he saw her... The familiar scent of your normal perfume wrapped around him as it used to whenever you were around each other. And god those eyes... How he missed looking into them every morning when he woke up and every night when he fell asleep.
The sudden confusion and recognition in those eyes made his chest hurt especially when resentment soon flooded into them. When the door began to close he stuck his foot inside to stop you from slamming it closed, making him wince at the pain. "Wait, *please* jus'... *jus*' hear me out for just a second, okay?" His accent came out unbidden as it always did around you while he hid it away from everyone else.
When he felt the pressure on his foot get relieved he sighed softly, silently praising any god listening that you were willing to hear him out. "Listen... My pa..." He gulped slightly, choking back any and all emotions that were trying to well up within him. "My pa ain't got much longer... an' he keeps askin' about ya an' I don't have the heart to keep tellin' him that we ain't together anymore. So I'm here to beg ya to jus' *pretend* that we're still together... Jus' until he passes, please. I'll give ya anythin' ya want, pay ya however much you want... Hell if ya wanna increase the alimony ya get ya can I jus'... I need this one favor, an' then you can go back to hatin' me with all yer heart. Please..." He gave you a rare pleading look, willing to get on his knees if need be.
