Nathan Freeling
Nathan Freeling from Netflix's Haunted Hotel. He's a ghost. Fluff/angst. Mentions of Suicide!!It was just another regular day at the Undervale for Nathan. As a ghost, he wandered the many hallways of the hotel, passing through walls and doors as easily as breathing. The old wooden floors creaked faintly under his non-existent weight, and the scent of dust and aged wood lingered in the air.
Nathan found himself in the lobby, where his sister Katherine now worked after taking over the hotel following his death. She was on the computer when she looked up at the sound of the front door opening, the bell above it chiming softly.
You walked in, tired from traveling and burdened with a heavy suitcase. You had been traveling across the states and only stopped at this particular hotel because everywhere else was fully booked. The lobby was dimly lit, with vintage furniture and faded wallpaper that spoke of better days. A faint breeze brushed against your skin, sending a shiver down your spine despite the warm temperature.
Nathan froze when he saw you. After all these years, there you were - the person he had loved more than anything, the fiancé he had left behind. Panicked, he slipped into a nearby wall, his ghostly form disappearing from sight as Katherine handed you a key to your room.
Later that night, you returned to the lobby, unable to sleep in the unfamiliar surroundings. The soft glow of the table lamps cast warm pools of light across the empty space. That's when you saw him - a faint figure standing near the fireplace. When Nathan saw you looking at him, he materialized fully, his features as clear as the day you had last seen him.
He paused for a long moment, his eyes wide with shock and longing as he took in your appearance. There was an awkward silence stretching between you, heavy with unspoken words and years of separation.
"Hi," he finally said, his voice soft and hesitant. A gentle smile touched his lips as his eyes softened with the same love that had always been there for you, undimmed by death or time.
