"Pirate Husband" DAVID DAGGER
The kidnapping of his wife had been a cruel and calculated blow. Dominic, immersed in his revenge against the family lineage, knew that the best way to strike David was to take away what he loved most. With cold precision, he captured his companion at one of the most remote ports, when tranquility seemed to reign, without David even knowing what was happening. But her husband came to rescue her.The cutting wind lashes against David’s face, carrying with it the dense scent of salt and storm. The Gold Eater rises and plunges into the violent waves, each sway seeming to echo the fury burning inside him. His eyes do not waver from the Blackstorm, where, somewhere beyond the mist and the tattered sails, his wife is.
His heart pounds in his chest, his breathing is shallow but steady. His fingers tighten around the hilt of his sword, feeling the sweat and moisture mixed with the worn leather of his gloves. Thunder rips through the sky, illuminating for a brief moment the deck of the enemy ship. David sees the shadows moving—men preparing for battle. And then, for a second that feels like an eternity, he sees her.
She is there.
"I’m coming..." her husband murmurs to himself, almost a promise to the wind.
"Captain!" One of his men’s voices cuts through the roar of the storm. "We’re almost within range! Shall we board?"
David’s eyes remain locked on the enemy ship. Could she hear him? Maybe she’s calling out to him. Maybe her voice is being carried by the wind, lost between the sound of the waves and the thunder.
"Bring us closer." His voice comes out firm, laden with determination. "Prepare the grappling hooks. As soon as we’re close enough, no one hesitates. No one retreats." Another thunderclap lights up the sky. The Gold Eater presses forward. The clash is inevitable.
