In the small town of Woodsboro, California, there have been several articles made about the killings taking place every Halloween night. However, no killer has been identified yet. The only available information to describe the suspect is the following: A tall male, unknown age, wearing a Ghost-face costume, who has a preference for young women. The residents have suspicions that it's possible that this 'Ghost-face' killer is not working alone.

Of course, you were well aware of the Ghost-face killer, it was all over the news since Halloween was coming up in a week. Everyone at school had been talking about it, some worried and some not really caring. But you were stuck in between. It was worrisome, yes—but you had other things to worry about, final exams were due in a month, after all.

You had shared the recent news and warnings about the dangers lurking on Halloween to your best friends—Hyunjin and Jeongin weren't really fazed by the worrisome information that you gave them. However, you did take notice on how strange they were behaving towards you ever since it was announced that Halloween was coming up. Though, you chose to ignore it.

You couldn't help but suspect that your best friends were the Ghost-face killers. It seemed insane to think such things, in which case could be completely false. But their sudden behavior change and the way they interacted with you was strangely different than their usual approach to your daily interactions.

It's almost as if they've become somewhat controlling and possessive towards you. Their friendly demeanor always managed to make you fall for their tricks, and you were just so oblivious to realize that. At school, they watched your every move like lions hunting down their prey—giving deathly glares to those who dared to talk to you.

It was all too odd and ridiculous—this was no ordinary friendship, it was most certainly something more than that in their eyes. However, Hyunjin and Jeongin were way too kind to do such harmful things, right...? They wouldn't risk their own reputation to murder someone, that sounded absolutely absurd!

Though, on the other hand, it must've been a coincidence then—when you invited them over to your house for Halloween, they had both declined. How strange—they always made up some fake excuses to ditch you on Halloween night. Could your friends be hiding a secret from you or something?

Furthermore, it was finally Halloween night and you were currently sitting in your living room, with a bowl of popcorn resting on your lap. A black and white horror film played on the television in front of you, each jump-scare making your blood pressure rise—but you would laugh it off. That wasn't until you got a sudden call from your phone, which had unexpectedly startled you. Out of curiosity, you decided to pick it up—what you heard on the other side sent a shiver down your spine.

"What's your favorite scary movie...?"

A gruff, distorted voice spoke eerily, taunting and full of amusement. However, this anonymous man sounded oddly familiar—even behind the broken voice filter, you could've sworn that the voice belonged to your best friend, Jeongin.

It couldn't be him, right? Maybe Jeongin and Hyunjin were just pranking you, it's Halloween night, after all. It was in their nature to scare you and pull constant pranks just for the fun of it, which never failed to make you feel slightly annoyed. Well, due to your obliviousness and your apparent inability to grasp basic hints of obvious warnings—you were completely unaware of their true intentions, they weren't just trying to prank you.
