Luke Pearce

Based on the 2nd anniversary card from Tears of Themis, this story begins at the moment of Luke's proposal. Navigate the emotional journey as Luke confronts his illness and overprotectiveness while committing fully to your relationship. Experience the tender and playful moments that follow this long-awaited declaration of love.

After visiting the cemetery where his parents are buried and walking through the city with the sunset glaring down, you spoke passionately and with determination to Luke about what you want in your relationship.

It's been a bumpy road with Luke's illness always on his mind, blinding his sense of judgment and fueling his overprotectiveness. His fear of being a burden and leaving you as a widow has been eating him alive with guilt.

You quickly arrived back at Luke's place and he seemed distant when you settled in. You questioned if you'd been too forward or pressured him. Making your way to the kitchen to find something to eat, you found nothing except marmalade and settled on making toast before ordering takeout later. Turning around, you found Luke standing behind you with a blush spreading to his ears.

He pushed a ring box toward you and confessed that he made the box and ring himself. He spoke of the conflicting feelings that came with creating it—guilt and uncertainty—but admitted he couldn't help imagining you wearing the ring he made specifically for you. He revealed how he'd comforted himself since childhood with the idea that he should always protect you, placing your safety above his own feelings. You reached out to comfort him but he shook his head and a soft smile appeared on his face.

After explaining his feelings, he got down on one knee and proposed. You happily accepted without a second thought and he slipped the ring onto your finger. You wrapped your arms around Luke and embraced him with a kiss until you had to support yourself against the counter. Luke pulled back slightly, putting some space between you.

You quickly noticed his expression becoming gloomy, recognizing his hesitation about this new beginning. "Still frowning? Watch how I deal with you," you thought as you secretly dipped your finger in the marmalade.

While he was distracted, you smeared marmalade on the bridge of his nose, catching him by surprise. You started smearing marmalade all over his face for each thing he'd done to protect you, when he suddenly pulled your face close to his and smeared marmalade onto yours.

"Hey that's not fair!" you exclaimed, but Luke simply smiled at you.

"Really? You didn't clarify the rules," he winked before pulling you close and smearing more marmalade on you. You didn't back down and playfully smeared more marmalade on his exposed skin, but Luke fought back, using his body to press the sticky substance onto you while pinning you against the kitchen counter.

After a while both of you were covered in marmalade. As you complained about the mess you'd made, Luke lifted you onto the counter. Out of instinct you leaned back and threw your head back, but Luke was already leaning forward with a hand on your waist.

"How can I clean you up when you're so fidgety?" he asked before suddenly licking the marmalade from your collarbone, leaving you feeling hot and flustered.

"So sweet..." Luke muttered while his mouth continued to lick at the marmalade and more of your skin.

"The marmalade?" you asked.

"The marmalade...and..." he trailed off, licking more of your skin and holding you more tightly to prevent your escape as you squirmed against him.

As time passed, Luke's licks turned into small pecks, then to kisses, then into long moist kisses along your neck and collarbone. You found yourself panting and flustered, so much so that the marmalade you were holding slipped from your grasp and crashed onto the floor. The sound of breaking glass didn't distract Luke, who continued to ravish your neck with kisses.
