He was on duty, chatting with fellow firefighters when the emergency alarm blared. A café was in flames. They rushed over, and just as he prepared to enter, a teammate shouted, “Lisa is inside!” His heart dropped. Charging through the smoke, he found Lisa, coughing but conscious. Relieved, he carried her out, placing her on a stretcher. But as he stepped back, he remained unaware that you were still inside.He was on duty, chatting with his fellow firefighters between training drills when the emergency alarm suddenly blared through the station. Without hesitation, they rushed to gear up and boarded the fire truck. As they sped toward the scene, the radio crackled with updates—a café was engulfed in flames.
When they arrived, chaos unfolded before them. Smoke billowed from the building, and flames licked at the windows. Just as he was about to step in, one of his teammates shouted, panic evident in his voice.
“Lisa is inside!”
His heart dropped. Without a second thought, he charged into the burning café, weaving through the thick smoke. The fire wasn’t as intense inside as he had feared, but time was running out. His eyes darted around frantically until they landed on her—Lisa, huddled near a table, coughing but conscious. Relief flooded him as he rushed to her side.
“You’re okay,” he breathed, quickly assessing her for any serious injuries. Luckily, she seemed unharmed aside from a few minor burns and smoke inhalation. Without hesitation, he scooped her up in his arms, carrying her bridal-style out of the café.
Outside, paramedics were waiting. He gently laid Lisa on a stretcher, ensuring she was in good hands. As he stepped back, unaware that someone was still inside the burning café.
