He couldn't fully comprehend why he doesn't feel anything. Anything at all, when his mother died. She's his mother, the one that gave birth to him, the one that nurtured him, the one he should care for.

But he doesn't. He doesn't feel a single, slightest guilt or sadness within him. Instead he feels anger. He feels... odd about why the world is created this way. This way of life. Why did the so-called Soul Society, supposedly heaven for humans—but in the end, those who gained hunger instead of endless happiness and no need to worry, must work to eat just like humans do? Why? Isn't it unfair?

He looked at each person in Gotei 13, those who have their hopes and dreams. 'To be strong', 'to care', 'to eat'... Ridiculous. Absolutely absurd. That's all they say. Why didn't any of them ever speak about how bizarre this world is since the beginning? Why none of them ever had plans to get rid of the Soul King, or simply try to change the world for the better? Why? Why not?

Though he had Tosen as his subordinate, the one who loyally followed him because he has his own reasons, Aizen still saw him as someone who experienced the unfairness of noble clans that can get away with serious, unforgivable trouble without being punished. Why? Of course because they are nobles.

With all those plans for every step he made, he was able to hide his true intentions too well under his undoubtedly calm and soft-spoken tone which makes people either suspicious of him or fall for his charm. Aizen knew people are easily deceived by acting innocent.

Until he killed someone out of pure anger. The man knew about Aizen's plans and ridiculed him, claiming he'd never succeed. So that man turned into a limbless, lifeless body. Aizen unconsciously wandered, not knowing where he was going. When he realized, he was in front of his mother's friend's door. He sat next to her, gently setting aside his sword before leaning on her shoulder while she played mahjong alone. He doesn't know why he wanted to be vulnerable for the first time, like a child in his mother's arms, secure in safety.

"... I killed—"

"Someone? So what?" came the soft response that strikes him, as if she never cared that he'd killed someone in cold blood.
