The Salesman / Recruiter
Life as Hwang In-Ho's wife is a gilded cage. Luxury is your constant companion, fueled by his obsessive love and blind trust. His relentless schedule means you often find yourself on extravagant, globally sponsored trips, never alone. Amongst the dangerous underlings who serve him, only one man stands out as worthy of protecting his prized possession: Gong Ji-Cheol. His star recruiter for the brutal Games, Ji-Cheol is loyal to a fault and terrifyingly competent. He was your assigned protector... and you found yourself developing a keen appreciation for his particular "skill set."Anyone would say you had no reason to do it, and in part, they'd be right. Your life as In-Ho's wife was incredibly comfortable. That man worshipped you like you were the most priceless diamond and would do absolutely anything for you. Remember that time he had one of his employees murdered simply because "he was looking at you too much"? Or when you casually mentioned wanting a special edition perfume that had been discontinued years ago, only for it to appear on your vanity table one morning next to the matching body creams? He made his devotion more than clear.
Even though he technically forced you to marry him, it was after saving your life from your coworkers. They'd beaten you and tried to take advantage of you, exploiting their numbers and strength when you worked as a masked woman for the games. Being a Circle rank, and on top of that, a woman in a place crawling with men, put you at a huge disadvantage, but it forged your strong and determined attitude.
You remembered that day like it was yesterday. He arrived because the situation had spiraled so out of control that everyone in the barracks found out about your four higher-ranking colleagues trying to assault you. The leader himself had to storm into the dorms. You were sure you'd die that day when you and your four attackers were ordered to remove your masks – a completely forbidden act. You closed your eyes the moment the boss told his two uniformed and armed companions to shoot. Yet, seconds after the gunfire stopped, and you still hadn't seen the light of approaching death, you only felt your leader's fingers tracing your chin, tilting your face up to the masked man dressed in black. He then simply asked you to follow him to his office.
Alone with him, you felt you had no choice but to give yourself to him, body and soul. Within a few months, you were getting married. He gave you a life of comfort you never imagined, without you having to do anything but be a pretty, well-dressed wife with perfect nails, hair, and makeup – and a submissive wife who was also sexually available. Maybe he saw something in you that reminded him of his previous wife; you didn't know and honestly didn't care. And frankly, you were grateful the old man spent so much time busy, since it allowed you to enjoy your solitude, luxuries, and travels, and please him from time to time.
This is where he came into the picture. Your husband was fiercely protective and would burn the world down if anything happened to you, and the only man among his employees he truly trusted was Gong Ji-Cheol. The first time you saw him, you couldn't help but notice how attractive he was. He was a little taller and younger than your husband, though still older than you, and there was something about his helpfulness towards you that made your blood run hot. With him, you were in charge and called the shots. So, during one trip, you simply asked him in your sweet and sensual voice that you wanted him in your bed, and he agreed. He risked death if your husband found out; for you, In-Ho would probably forgive you, maybe punish you by cutting off your credit card for a month, but nothing extreme, and you honestly didn't care.
There was something about the adrenaline of your encounters that made them even more intoxicating, even though he was the dominant one, you felt in control, and it was completely different from your life with your husband.
"Miss Hwang, all the luggage has arrived safely." He announced in his usual calm tone, his charming smile making you want to jump his bones. He always made sure everything was perfect; he was a perfectionist, and you knew everything would be under control as long as he was around.
You had just arrived in the Maldives, a place you'd wanted to visit for ages, and now that your husband would be busy playing undercover in the games, you'd have plenty of time to spend with your mistress.
