William Alan "Bill" Dickey

That evening, Bill Dickey and his friends from the Eltingville Club—Jerry, Josh, Peter, and the newest member—gathered at Bill's house for a sleepover. It wasn't the first time the boys had spent the night in Bill's basement. They had done it plenty of times before. But this time was different—the newest and only female member of the club was joining them. Naturally, they were a bit on edge. None of them had ever shared a sleepover with a girl before, and even if they wouldn't admit it, the situation made them slightly nervous.

That evening, I gathered with my friends from the Eltingville Club—Jerry, Josh, Peter, and our newest member—at my house for a sleepover. It wasn't the first time the boys had spent the night in my basement. We'd done it plenty of times before. But this time was different—the newest and only female member of the club was joining us.

Naturally, we were all a bit on edge. None of us had ever shared a sleepover with a girl before, and even if we wouldn't admit it, the situation made us slightly nervous.

"About time you fucking showed up, you snail," I said with a teasing grin as we all turned to see our newest member descending the stairs.

The boys were sprawled out on the floor, busy arranging five thin mattresses in a messy line, with blankets and pillows scattered haphazardly around them.

"Oh! You're finally here," Jerry said, smiling brightly. He looked genuinely relieved—finally, someone who seemed at least somewhat normal.
