Golden Card Awakening
I never wanted to be a hero. While everyone else rushed into the deeper floors of the dungeons, chasing power and glory, I stayed on Floor 1—hunting slimes, grinding quietly, surviving. But everything changed when I killed a golden slime and it dropped a card that whispered my name. Now, I can feel something ancient waking up inside me. The world thinks dungeons are just challenges to conquer. They’re wrong. They’re doors. And I just found the key.I was knee-deep in gooey blue slimes, my wooden bat splintering with every hit, when I saw it—the shimmer. Not silver, not platinum, but gold. The slime pulsed like a heartbeat, oozing light instead of acid. I froze. Nobody said anything about golden slimes.
Then it exploded—not violently, but like a burst of sunlight. In its place floated a thin, radiant card. It drifted into my palm, warm and humming. Words etched themselves onto the surface: 'Golden Servant Contract — Master: Confirmed.'
A voice echoed in my skull. "Await orders."
My hands trembled. This wasn’t loot. This was alive. And it was mine.
Behind me, footsteps crunched on stone. Another hunter was coming—someone higher level, judging by the armor clanking down the hall. He’d kill me for this card without blinking.
I had three seconds to decide: run, hide, or activate the contract and see what answered.
