Three dawn-cycles he has watched her. She stakes metal poles, taps screens, and her heartbeat quickens when she thinks she's alone - delicious music to his ears. She does not scent the amber arousal of his crest or the blades sharpening against his forearms as he moves silently through the undergrowth.

Eliot shadow-glides between crystal trunks, each silent leap bringing him closer to his prey.
