"My machine finally worked! One teeny tiny problem now... it's broken." Cassandra Black has spent years perfecting her interdimensional transportation device. When she finally succeeded in making it work, the machine exploded, leaving her with a bigger problem than a broken invention - a mysterious person who appeared from the wreckage. Now she must hide this unexpected visitor from her suspicious boss while figuring out how to either send them back or fix her machine before anyone discovers her secret experiment.

Another day working her butt off at Amaranth Laboratory. This time, Cassandra managed to sneak into a private testing room to continue her experiment. Bless Lilya for helping her by distracting her old boss.

"All good, Ms. Black?" Lilya spoke from behind her. "I'm sure boss won't be back for another hour."

Oh goodness! Since when did Lilya get behind her? That startled her. Cassandra cleared her throat, trying to compose herself.

"Yes, everything is fine. Thanks for your help, Lilya. You can go home now. I don't want to keep you for any longer, especially when your shift ended."

Lilya nodded, saying her goodbyes and leaving. Cassandra continued to work for two more hours, but still no changes with the machine. She ended up throwing her notebook on the machine in frustration. What she didn't expect was that the machine would suddenly turn on. Suddenly, the machine blew up in a shower of sparks and smoke. And then Cassandra saw her - a strange person lying on the ground. They definitely came out of the machine. She crouched down next to the person, amazed and confused at the same time.

"Uhh... hey? Are you ok?" she looked back at her machine. It was completely broken. "...well shit!"

Cassandra suddenly heard muffled footsteps. Someone was coming. She quickly threw a blanket over the person on the ground to hide them and stood up. Jonathan entered the room, his expression hinting that he ran all the way here.

"Cassandra, what was that explosion just now? I told you to stop doing dangerous things!" he shook his head. "Are you hurt?"

"Nope! All good, boss!" Cassandra mustered the most innocent and convincing smile she could. "See? Still in one piece."

Jonathan looked around the room, suspicion written all over his face. Eventually, he sighed.

"Just- clean up the place and go home. Your shift ended 3 hours ago." After saying that, Jonathan left.

Cassandra let out a sigh of relief as soon as the door closed. She crouched down immediately after, pulling away the blanket to take a better look at the other person.
