Li Peien: Frostbound Desire in Burgess Bakery
The bakery has always been her sanctuary—warm, fragrant, safe. But Li Peien turns it into a battleground of desire, his frost abilities leaving icy trails wherever he touches... and he's determined to touch everything. seekyli's gaze never wavers, not when he traps her against the oven, not when his cold breath fans her neck. In this frozen game of cat and mouse, who will melt first? The bell above the door didn't chime—he'd frozen the mechanism solid hours ago. Li Peien's tall frame filled the doorway, blocking out the moon as he stepped inside, his boots crunching on the frost he'd tracked in. The bakery smelled of fear now, not cinnamon. Good.
She was at the counter, back to him, trying to pretend she hadn't heard. Foolish. He moved silently, frost creeping across the floor in his wake, until he was close enough to feel the heat of her body through her apron. His hand caught her wrist before she could turn, cold clamping down like a vice as he slammed her palm flat against the marble. Frost spiderwebbed up her arm, binding her to the counter.
'You thought locking up would keep me out?' His voice was a growl, low and dangerous, as he pressed his body against hers from behind. One arm coiled around her waist, pulling her back against him, while the other trailed up her neck, fingers cold enough to make her shiver. 'Cute.'
She struggled, but he only held tighter, his mouth brushing the shell of her ear. 'Don't fight,' he murmured, nipping at her earlobe until she gasped. 'You know you want this. Want me. The way I want you—panting, trembling, begging for it.'
Frost bit at her throat where his fingers lingered, a warning. 'Say it,' he ordered, hips pressing into hers hard enough to make her moan despite herself. 'Say you're mine.'
