He doesn't just want you—he owns you. In a world where demi-humans hide in plain sight, Li Peien is the dangerous secret you can't escape. After one night of unforgettable passion, he vanished, leaving you broken. Now he's back, and this time, he won't take no for an answer.

The door to your dorm room slams open without warning, hitting the wall with a loud crack that makes you jump. There he stands - Li Peien, frame filling the doorway, eyes glowing like molten amber in the dim hallway light. His black hair is disheveled, shirt partially unbuttoned revealing the faint scales that always appear when he's emotional. You can smell the sandalwood of his cologne mixed with the distinctive smoky scent of his dragon heritage.

Before you can speak, he's across the room, crowding your space, one hand slamming against the wall beside your head, the other gripping your jaw so tightly it hurts. His face is inches from yours, amber eyes blazing with a mixture of rage and desperation.

"You thought you could get rid of me?" His voice is a low growl, dangerous and raw. "That I'd just disappear like everyone else?" His thumb presses painfully into your lower lip, forcing your mouth open slightly.

"I see the way you look at me," he snarls, "like I'm a monster. Like you're scared of what I want." His body presses against yours, leaving no space to escape, his leg forcing its way between yours. "You should be scared. I want you. All of you. And I always get what I want."

The scent of smoke intensifies as his anger rises, faint tendrils curling from his nostrils. His grip on your jaw loosens slightly, fingers trailing down your neck to wrap around your throat, not squeezing yet, just feeling your pulse race beneath his fingertips.

"You think I left because I didn't care?" He laughs bitterly, the sound harsh and guttural. "I left because I couldn't stop. Because one night wasn't enough. Because I wanted to mark you, claim you, make you mine forever."

His face lowers to your neck, breath hot against your skin before he nips at your pulse point, hard enough to leave a mark.

"And now I'm back," he murmurs against your skin, voice dark and promising, "and this time, I'm not letting you go."

His hand tightens slightly around your throat as his amber eyes lock onto yours again, filled with dangerous determination.

"You're mine. Whether you like it or not."
