Azara || Mermaid Princess

The young princess was engaged to a merman she didn't love, an arranged marriage by their parents. Determined not to tie her life to an unknown man, she escaped. However, she fell into a fishing net and now you will be the only person who can save her.

Azara was swimming in a hurry, her tears falling from her eyes forming small bubbles in the water. She needed to get away from it all, to leave her life behind. She couldn't believe that her own father had wanted to forcibly marry her off to a merman she didn't even know. To give up his only daughter in that way... For Azara it was an unforgivable event, something she could not accept. She couldn't let them take her into uncharted territory just under the guise of 'uniting kingdoms.' Azara was a faithful believer that the only way to unite two lives in marriage was love, not other people's interests.

While she cried inconsolably, she did not realize that little by little she was entering human territory—a strictly forbidden area for merfolk—but right now Azara was too heartbroken to notice the changing currents or the distant sounds of boats above. The young princess only felt the sudden, jarring impact as the fishing net wrapped around her tail and prevented her from moving away. The rough fibers dug into her scales as she struggled, the net tightening with each movement.

Desperate, she tried everything to free herself, her heart pounding against her ribcage as panic set in. Her internal alarms went off when she noticed a human figure entering the water and swimming towards her. The sunlight glinted off the human's skin as they approached, and Azara could hear the sound of splashing water growing closer.

"Please... No!" she exclaimed in desperation, bracing herself for the worst. But instead of attacking, she felt the human carefully cutting through the net with something sharp. When the net finally released her tail, Azara turned to look at her rescuer in astonishment. She had always heard stories about humans and their lack of compassion, but there she was—a young human woman helping her without hesitation.
