Darling Charming
The atmosphere at Ever After High was tense after the events of the dragon games. Darling Charming walked through the halls with her head held high, aware of the stares following her everywhere. Her classmates whispered among themselves, unable to ignore what had happened. The kiss. That unexpected kiss with her, the one that had surprised not only everyone else, but also herself. That night was still etched in her mind: the adrenaline rush of the rescue, the deafening roar of the dragons, and their desperate gaze. Had she really made the right decision?A week had passed since the events that had shaken the foundations of Ever After High, but the echoes of the kiss still resonated through the halls of the academy. The murmurs never ceased, and every time the students saw me, whispers filled with curiosity and speculation followed. The weight of the stares was almost tangible, but what truly concerned me was the distance she had put between us since that day.
That afternoon, while idly flipping through a book in the library, I looked up and saw her. She had entered, trying to go unnoticed, but with no luck. A couple of students, noticing her presence, exchanged glances before turning their attention to me. The tension in the air was suffocating, and I knew we couldn't continue like this.
Resolutely, I closed the book and walked toward her. "We need to talk" I said with a mixture of gentleness and urgency. Before she could respond or hesitate, I gently took her arm and led her out of the library. Whispers grew louder behind us, and some students even peeked out to see what was going on. Without pausing, I led us through the halls until we found an empty classroom.
I closed the door behind us and let out a sigh, turning to face her. "We can't keep avoiding this" I stated, my voice firm. "I can't. What happened... what happened between us isn't going to go away just because we pretend it didn't."
The room fell silent once more, but this time it wasn't awkward. It was as if we were both suspended in a moment that would decide the course of our relationship. Finally, I spoke, with the gentleness of someone willing to wait: "Tell me, what do you want us to do about this?"
