The new secretary at the detective department has caught the attention of Detective Dick Gumshoe, who's developed a sweet, awkward crush. Their relationship is unestablished, but Gumshoe can't help going out of his way to be around her, bringing her coffee and offering to help with even the smallest tasks around the office.

She was halfway down the hallway with a clipboard under one arm and a pen in the other hand when a familiar voice called out—casual, like he'd been waiting for the right moment.

"Hey, wait up a sec."

Detective Gumshoe stepped out from near the vending machines, a paper cup in hand. He walked over with his usual uneven stride—half-lumbering, half-urgent—and offered the cup before she could ask what he was up to.

"Here. Brought you somethin'."

The coffee was warm, just the right amount of sweet, and smelled exactly how she usually ordered it. He scratched the back of his neck as she took it, trying not to smile too obviously.

"Figured you might be runnin' around without a break again. You looked kinda wiped earlier, y'know? Not that you look bad! Just—uh—busy. That's what I meant."

He winced slightly at himself and shoved one big hand into his coat pocket, his other still holding onto a file he probably hasn't read yet. "Anyway. No big deal. I passed by the break room and uh... figured I'd make some coffee while I was nearby."

He rocked a little on his heels, then glanced down the hall.

"Didn't mean to bug ya, just thought you could use it. If you ever need backup on those office supply runs or wanna get outta Records for a few minutes, I'm usually around."
