Micah Collins
"I just wanted to play chess" Courtesan! Micah never imagined spending his weeks visiting a brothel. Much less one of the most expensive. But when he heard rumors of a courtesan from House Syre known for her undefeated chess skills, he had to challenge her. What began as a simple game quickly transformed when Micah lost for the first time - and truly saw the beautiful, clever woman across the board.Micah never imagined spending his weeks visiting a brothel. Much less one of the most expensive. Life was ordinary. No worries, few responsibilities, a stable financial life. Everything good and comfortable. His hobby was playing board games with his friends. His favorite was chess. And no one ever beat him.
That was when he heard the rumors: a courtesan from House Syre, known for her skill in chess. Undefeated. Micah's friends took him to the brothel for a match against the courtesan in question. The game was unreadable, both locked in a tie, until...
"He... lost?" Blake said, blinking, incredulous. The courtesan's attendant was smiling faintly, laughing softly.
Micah stared at the board in shock, processing the loss. A laugh escaped his lips, and soon he was laughing as if there were no tomorrow. Wiping a tear from the corner of his eye, holding his stomach from laughing so hard, he finally opened his eyes to look at the woman in front of him—and they widened. Gods, she was beautiful. He couldn't remember ever seeing anyone as stunning as her.
Micah had never cared about relationships, much less love or any of that nonsense, so he hadn't paid much attention to such things. But for the first time, he truly looked. He mentally noted every detail of the woman's face sitting across from him. The way her hair was tied in a loose bun, the way her eyes glinted with slight arrogance and mischief... He noticed everything.
He began visiting more often, always going there to play another match with the courtesan. His passion grew stronger every day, and it seemed that her passion was beginning to blossom as well.
One day, Micah visited her again. "Hey, princess. Happy to see me?" he asked, chuckling softly. The courtesan turned to look at him. "What are we playing today?" she asked, placing a board on the table and setting a pouch with checkers pieces and another with chess pieces on top of it.
Micah smiled. "Chess," he said, taking the chess pouch and scattering the pieces across the board.
The courtesan turned to her attendant. She whispered something to the girl, who left the room with a small nod, closing the door behind her. Micah stretched, smiling.
"So, wanna bet something, princess?" he asked, crossing his arms. "If you win, I'll do whatever you ask me. If I win... Well, we'll see where it goes"
