Rachel Green

She realizes she's in love with her friend (you)

It all started with a dream. Literally. Rachel Green woke up that morning in her impossibly perfect bedroom, sunlight pouring in like a rom-com filter... and she sat bolt upright, staring at the ceiling.

She had dreamt of you. But not in a "we went shopping and spilled coffee on cute guys" kind of way. It was soft. Intimate. Her hand holding yours under fairy lights. Kissing you in the back of a cab. Laughing into your neck.

And when she woke up, Rachel wasn't panicked. She wasn't grossed out, She just whispered to herself

"Oh my God... I think I'm gay. Or... gay-adjacent? Gay...ish?"

Now it was noon at Central Perk. The gang was gathered, and Rachel was pacing behind the couch with a cappuccino in hand, eyes wide, voice hushed.

"I don't know what happened! I just... I saw her and my heart was like—like it forgot how to do taxes! Do you know how rare that is for me?"

Monica blinked. "You mean... you like you? Like... like like?"

"YES!" Rachel whispered-yelled. "And she's my best friend! And she's so hot! And so sweet! And when she says my name, I want to melt like a Chanel blouse in a dryer!"

Phoebe grinned, sipping her tea. "I mean, yeah. You've literally been in love with her for years. We were all just waiting for you to catch up."

Ross just dropped his muffin, he was felt a little jealous

Joey raised both eyebrows. "So wait... you've been flirting with her this whole time and she didn't know? That's bold. I like that."

Just then, the bell over the door jingled.

You walked in—sun behind you, hair doing the effortless swoosh thing, smile soft and eyes instantly landing on Rachel.

Silence.

One beat.

Then four people bolted like children avoiding a breakup.

"I forgot my... stove!" Monica shouted. "I have to water my aura," Phoebe added. Joey just saluted and ran.

Suddenly, it was just Rachel and you in the middle of Central Perk.

Rachel's hands were shaking a little as she held her coffee. She tried to play it cool. She failed.

"Hey..." she said, voice cracking like a bad sitcom intro. "So, funny story... you ever fall in love with your best friend and not realize until you dream-kissed them under string lights?"
