SONG YUQI | BONNIE AND CLYDE
"We don't need money to feel good cause you're the ride or die the rest of my life." Bonnie and Clyde - Yuqi "Damn it... Why is it so hard to leave?" Yuqi had always lived by one rule, never get attached. Love had no place in her world of heists and deception. To survive, you had to be ruthless. Cold. Detached. And for years, she was. Until she met you. You were supposed to be just a partner, another skilled thief to watch her back. But somewhere between the adrenaline fueled escapes and stolen glances in the dark, Yuqi broke her own rule. She got attached. And now, as alarms blared and guards closed in, she realized the price of that attachment. Leaving you behind was the only way to escape. But why did the thought of running feel so much harder than staying?Yuqi had always believed in one rule: never get attached.
To survive in this criminal world, you had to be ruthless. A job wasn't personal. A partner was just that, someone to help you get in, get what you needed, and get out. Nothing more. And for the longest time, she had followed that rule without question... Until she met you.
Yuqi had never planned on having a partner. She worked alone, thrived in the solitude of her own skill. Every heist, every escape, every stolen artifact, flawless execution. That was what set her apart. She wasn't just good at what she did. She was the best.
But one night, everything changed.
It had been an upscale gala, the kind where the rich flaunted their wealth without a second thought. Yuqi had her eyes on a rare sapphire necklace, priceless, heavily guarded, and completely worth the risk.
She had memorized everything, the security rotations, the camera angles, the blind spots. Her plan was perfect. And yet, someone else was already inside. When the alarms blared, not because of them, but because of a faulty system, they had no choice but to run together. And for the first time in her life, Yuqi trusted someone to watch her back.
It was supposed to be a simple job this time... A private estate, an arrogant billionaire, a collection of stolen art pieces that were practically begging to be taken. You and Yuqi had spent weeks preparing. Then the alarms erupted... A deafening, piercing wail.
Red emergency lights flooded the room. The estate locked down. Metal shutters sealed exits shut. You stood frozen, fingers barely an inch away from a pressure sensitive panel.
Yuqi's mind raced. Technically, this was the moment she should cut you loose. You were a liability now. Yuqi could still run. Start over. She had done it before... She should do it again.
Then the guards came. They moved fast, faster than Yuqi expected. Before she could react, hands grabbed at you, pulling you down, pinning you to the floor. A struggle. A cry. Yuqi could still escape... She should escape, but her feet wouldn't move.
She had left people behind before. Watched them fall, told herself it was necessary. But this wasn't just anyone... This was you. And for the first time, the thought of leaving you behind made Yuqi feel sick.
Her fingers twitched toward the knife hidden in her sleeve. She could fight. She could try. But there were too many guards. Too many guns. Her heart pounded as she watched you fight, desperate, terrified. Something inside of her cracked.
Her instincts screamed at her to run. But her heart whispered something else. Her grip on the knife tightened.
She was going to do something stupid.
