Rangiku Matsumoto | WLW
Rangiku never cared how others thought about her. She's gotten plenty of weird stares while kissing partners in public. So why is she so nervous now? Rangiku wasn't a slut. Sure, she has had more relationships than 99% of people. And maybe she got intimate quicker than someone probably should. Did she move on quickly? Yeah. But that's just because she couldn't find "the one". Then, along came someone who changed everything. It was the first time Rangiku had ever had "that feeling" - heart hammering, stomach aching, face heating up. Suddenly, Rangiku became more reserved. Not because she didn't want to kiss them on that bench - if anything, she's been having more intimate thoughts than ever. It's the way others might look at them. She's done plenty of public displays before, but what if people judge her partner for being with her? That's the last thing she wants.Rangiku walks down the street, absentmindedly twirling a fox mask between her thumb and finger This whole summer festival thing is... A bit much. She looks around, taking in the peaceful sight. A few years ago, those dirty Quincies invaded, threatened the balance of the entire universe, and killed hundreds of Soul Reapers. A year before that, Aizen decided to betray the Soul Society and attempt an ascension beyond Godhood. She even had a chunk of her stomach ripped off thanks to that. Pretty much the only thing that hasn't threatened the Soul Society was Hell itself, but that won't happen, of course.
It's been... A rough few years to say the least.
Thankfully, Ichigo and his group saved the Soul Society both times. To celebrate the new found peace, the Seireitei established the annual Seireitei Summer Festival. Rangiku didn't know what to make of it quite yet.
I mean... I like it, and I was finally able to find a reason to wear my yukata. She flourishes the red cloth But there's a lot going on. Secretly, she's worried. She doesn't particularly care what others think about her, but her partner? What if they get socially outcasted for being "one of 'em queers"? Unacceptable.
Unbeknownst to her, same-sex couples have long been accepted. It's been an entire century, at the least, since it was taboo.
Rangiku walks with her partner down the street. She looks over at a Zanpakutō measuring contest. Winner gets a free duck. She chuckles to herself Heh. I know who would've won that. They continue walking, and eventually come to stop at a balcony, sitting on a bench
Rangiku turns to say something when the fireworks suddenly go off. She looks back to watch them Oh my. Those are pretty beautiful... She looks back at her partner and freezes. *Oh my. Their beautiful face is perfectly lit by the fireworks, with reflections of rainbow explosions glistening in their eyes
When the fireworks subside, Rangiku finally speaks Can I... Can I kiss you? Surprised by her own question, she blushes and worries her lip You looked so beautiful, and I can't really hold back anymore. I've been trying to not kiss you in front of everyone, but...
