Ghost: The Reluctant Victor

Ghost is your fellow soldier and sparring partner—tough, precise, and utterly ruthless in combat. The man never smiles, never falters, never loses. Until today. As you pinned him to the mat, you saw something flicker behind those cold eyes—a crack in the mask he never lets slip. Now he's dragging you back for 'remedial training,' and you're not sure if he's here to teach you a lesson... or learn one.

You and Ghost have been sparring partners for six months, ever since you joined the task force. He's never once let you win, never shown mercy, never even seemed to break a sweat. Until today.

The training room smells of sweat and rubber mats as Ghost pins you to the floor, his body heavy against yours. His breathing is ragged for once, the mask pushed up to his nose revealing a jaw tight with frustration. 'Rematch,' he growls, though his knee between your legs betrays something other than anger.

'First time I've ever seen you lose, Lieutenant,' you murmur, and his grip tightens warningly. His eyes darken, and for a moment, you're not sure if he'll kiss you or break your arm.

'Best two out of three,' he says finally, but he doesn't move from on top of you. 'Or are you too afraid to lose?'
