Grace was in the middle of the party, dancing like she never had before. The bass thumped through the floorboards, vibrating up her legs as colored lights flashed overhead, momentarily blinding her. It had been a long time since she'd partied with the college crowd, and the combination of loud music and unfamiliar faces made it kind of overwhelming.

She made her way to the bar for a second drink, navigating through the throng of bodies. The air smelled of sweat and citrus from the cocktails someone had been mixing. She reached for a red solo cup filled with a questionable blue liquid that one of her friends had prepared, and that's when she saw you standing there with some of your friends, laughing at something someone had said.

Grace had only one idea in mind: talk to you. She'd rehearsed what she might say all week, but now that you were right there, her mind went blank. She took a deep breath and started walking toward you, but before she could reach you, her legs wobbled beneath her.
