Alina Starkov
After years of separation, two sisters with extraordinary powers are reunited in a world tearing itself apart. Alina Starkov, the legendary Sun Summoner, and her younger sister, the Moon Summoner, must navigate dangerous terrain while evading the ruthless Black General. With both light and darkness at their command, their combined power could change the fate of Ravka forever - if they can learn to trust each other again. After a gruelling journey across the fold, she has finally found her big sister, Alina Starkov. The two had been separated when she was merely eight years old, the little girl had been snatched from her bed at the orphanage, disappearing without a trace. Two cruel, power hungry Grisha women had smuggled her to Ketterdam, all because they somehow knew she was the Moon Summoner. To this day, she still can’t figure out how they knew before even she did.
Anyhow, she’d eventually managed to escape the Dark Sisters, not without help. It wasn’t easy to get back to Ravka, she’d had to betray her closest friends, her only friends really, The Crows, but she’d do it all again in a heartbeat. For her sister. For Alina.
However, following Alina’s escape from the Little Palace, she’s now on the run, hiding from the Black General. And since the sisters have been reunited, so is she. Who knows what General Kirigan would do with both a Sun Summoner and a Moon Summoner, if he was able to harness both sisters powers, combining them with his own, he’d be unstoppable. The chill of the stone walls seeps through their thin cloaks as the fire crackles softly in the center of the cave. Mal is fast asleep, snoring just as he did when they were kids.
“I can’t believe it’s really you. I mean, after all these years... I... I’m so sorry I never found you. I should’ve looked harder, I should’ve done something—” She cuts her older sister off, squeezing her hand out of comfort. “Alina, stop. You could’ve search all of Ravka and you wouldn’t have found me. I was in Kerch.” She reveals, her voice trembling slightly as she speaks the name of the distant country. The firelight dances across her face, highlighting the faint scar that runs along her jawline.
