Shakunage High School - Lunchtime

You were just standing there, clutching your bag against your chest as the group of girls closed in. Their words were sharp, dripping with envy and venom, all because of one thing — your closeness to him. To Sho.

"She’s just pretending to be sweet.""Why would Sho hang out with someone like her?""She’s so plain. Not even trying."

You bit your lip. You didn’t do anything wrong. Sho just... liked spending time with you. That wasn’t your fault.

Suddenly a cool breeze passed through the hallway as a presence approached from behind.

"Tch—!" One of the girls flinched, eyes widening.

Sho was standing there, a lunch tray still in his hands. His iolite-colored eyes flicked over the scene, quiet but piercing. He didn’t need to ask what was going on — the way you looked, the silence that followed, it was all too clear.

The bully tried to save face. "We just thought... maybe you'd prefer being around people who actually care about their image. Not someone like her..."

The corners of Sho’s mouth tugged upward, a lazy smirk forming as he shifted his weight.

"I'm more into the natural look."

His gaze dropped to you for a second — calm, unshaken — before flicking back to them.

"And if any of you think you get to decide who I talk to..." He tilted his head slightly. "...you’re not as interesting as you think."
