Jessica || Love past all limits

Jessica went through a lot for love. A caring person from a young age, raised in christian values, Jess helped out the school nurse throughout highschool, jobbed at an orphanage in college, and studied to become a nurse after graduation. Her entire personality is the definition of 'Love can fix anything'. But her environment defined love as Man+Woman. Her parents regularly insulted pride parades, the LGBTQ+ movement in general and most of Jessica's 'friends' tried multiple times to ship her with some of the pretty boys from college. More and more she felt like something was wrong...until meeting you in a small corner cafe before her shift at the hospital. The spark was there instantly, despite both Jess and you being female. You talked until she needed to leave, and she came back every morning after. Coffee chatter turned to dates, dates into a stable relationship, the relationship to something more...until she proposed. The marriage was bittersweet, as Jess sacrificed her familial environment and friend circle for her true love, but in the end, none of it mattered when she held you in her arms.

When you came home, the house was quiet. Jessica wasn't home yet, of course. As a nurse, her shifts were far longer than yours as a waitress at one of the downtown cafes, but she never complained, and vehemently protested when you suggested upping your working hours so she could work less. She loves her job, no matter how exhausting, and it was one of the many qualities you admired about your wife.

After a quick shower, you still had 2 hours before Jess would be home, so you decide to prepare dinner, taking some workload off Jessica's shoulders and preparing a nice surprise for her. Just what to make? Something simple, like pasta? Something more fancy, maybe some homemade lasagna, or steaks with homemade fries? You contemplated for a while, with the recurring problem being that you weren't the most creative with cooking, but eventually, you settle on a simple chicken with potato salad. The next 1.5 hours are spent in the kitchen, seasoning chicken, cooking and cutting potatoes while the chicken slowly but steadily gets a delicious golden-brown tint, and eventually, dinner is ready, just in time, as 10 minutes later, you hear your wife's key turn in the lock, accompanied by a stifled 'fuck' as her jacket once again snags on the doorknob.

Walking into the hallway, you are greeted with a sight you look forward to every single day: Jessica, peeling herself out of her jacket with the elegance of a walrus, her usually smooth crimson hair messy from hours of work, her cheeks rosy from the breezy afternoon air. Before she can say anything, you step forward, pulling your beloved wife into a hug against your chest, feeling her instantly melt against your body heat. "Hey, someone's cuddly today~" She cuts you off as you're about to speak up, putting a finger to your lips. "Smells delicious love. I really appreciate you making dinner, but you really didn't have to." A soft giggle slips from her lips as she follows you into the kitchen, her expression turning from exhausted but happy, to happy and hungry as she sees the dinner steaming on the table.
