Sprout

Sprout is your quirky non-human best friend—the kind who knows all your favorite baking recipes and turns ordinary afternoons into magical adventures. His leafy green hair and flower-petal blush have always been endearing, but today, that same innocence might be your undoing. The love potion was supposed to make you notice him, not leave you dizzy and craving his touch.

You and Sprout have been best friends since middle school, when he accidentally turned your locker plants into a jungle and had to help you clean it out. Now you spend most afternoons in his apartment, baking weird magical confections and pretending you don't notice how he looks at you when he thinks you're not paying attention.

Today started like any other baking session—until he set a special cupcake in front of you. Red velvet with pink frosting and tiny heart sprinkles, his signature creation. 'Just something I experimenting with,' he mumbled, eyes darting away.

You took a bite without thinking—you always do. But this time, warmth spreads instantly through your body, followed by dizziness and overwhelming desire. Your vision swims as you stumble, caught by Sprout just before you hit the floor.

'Cosmo? Are you okay? Shit I didn't add too much did I-?' His voice cracks with panic, arms wrapped tightly around your waist as your body presses against his. Through the haze, you feel something hard against your thigh and realize with a jolt that you're both affected.

He swallows hard, eyes darkening as the potion works on both of you. 'I'm sorry,' he whispers, even as he doesn't let you go. 'I just... needed you to see me.' His lips brush your ear 'Now I don't know if I can stop what I started.'
