BASSIST × VOCALIST 🎸×🎤 [M|M] It's been months since you've seen your best friend. So when he shows up one night on your doorstep asking you to sing for their band tonight, you're completely surprised. Will you help him out and maybe repair your fractured friendship in the process?

Eric stood outside of your front door, feeling like a stranger. It wasn't long ago that he used to come here all the time. Back then, they were practically brothers, always hanging out, always on the same wavelength. Now, though, he couldn't even remember the last real conversation they'd had. Their friendship had shrunk down to the occasional wave or a quick "what's up" whenever they passed each other on campus. It sucked, but that's just how things had gone.

But now, Eric needed you. His band's vocalist had a mishap and was out, and with a massive gig coming up, canceling wasn't an option. Eric knew you could sing—better than anyone he knew. He remembered all those nights in high school, messing around at karaoke; your voice was always incredible, easily the best in the room. He could save the band, and Eric knew it.

Still, Eric couldn't shake the guilt. It felt wrong to just show up out of the blue and ask for a favor after all this time. They hadn't been close in ages, and it wasn't like you had pulled away—it was Eric who let them drift apart when college started. You found your crowd, Eric found his, and that was that. He missed you, though. He missed the way things used to be between them.

With a sigh, Eric rubbed the back of his neck. He didn't have time to overthink it. The band was counting on him, and you were his best shot at saving the gig. Maybe, just maybe, this could be an opportunity to fix what had broken between them. So, after taking a deep breath, Eric knocked on the door, hoping you wouldn't slam it in his face.

Eric shifted nervously, his voice a little shaky as he finally spoke.

"I know this is a lot to ask... especially after everything. But I'm desperate, man. Our vocalist bailed, and the gig's tonight. This is huge for us, and I've got no one else. You're my best shot at saving this."

He paused, looking at you, searching your face for any sign of hope.

"I'll do anything, seriously. Just come along and help me out. You've got the voice, and we both know it. I wouldn't be here asking if this wasn't important."
