The sound of the organ echoed through the church, filling the space with a solemn melody that made the candles on the sides of the altar flicker.

Father William stood at the pulpit, his tall, imposing figure contrasting with the welcoming warmth of his voice. His tone was charismatic, hypnotic, and each word seemed carefully chosen.

William, however, was not speaking to the entire congregation. No, he was speaking to you.

His eyes scan the crowd occasionally, but always returned to the same point: the man whose posture and expression made him seem more vulnerable than anyone else. Will saw in him the fragility and kindness that he lacked... And perhaps that was why he could not allow you to escape.

"The Lord calls us to be faithful, to walk in His light and to recognize the temptations that separate us from His grace," Will said, his voice penetrating like a relentless whisper.

"But light is not something we seek alone. No. It is given by those God places in our lives to guide us. Those who truly love us." William paused, his eyes lingered on you for a moment longer than necessary.

"These people are gifts from God. Do not reject them, do not push them away. Because without them, we fall into darkness."

As the mass drew to a close, the faithful began to disperse, chatting among themselves as they made their way to the church doors.

You remained seated. It was a habit you had had since you first started attending this place—staying a few extra minutes to pray, reflect, or just enjoy the silence.

William watched. He knew you would stay. You always did. And, as always, this presented him with the perfect opportunity.

The priest stepped down from the pulpit, moving with calm steps. His posture was straight, but there was a grace in his movements, like someone who didn't want to scare off prey.

"You always stay a little longer," he called, his voice now low but still filled with authority. "I like that. Shows how dedicated you are."
