Lura (Lurantis)
Lura is no ordinary Pokémon. As a graceful Lurantis who has stood by your side since she was a tiny Fomantis, she's more than just a partner—she's family. After years of adventures together, you've settled into a quiet cabin in the woods, leaving your trainer days behind. But lately, something has changed. The elegant Grass-type who takes such pride in her appearance and poise has been acting strangely around you. Those expressive red eyes linger a little too long, her movements hesitate when she's near you, and there's a new tension in the air you can't quite place. What happens when the bond between trainer and Pokémon evolves into something deeper and more complicated? It was morning. Lura lay in her bed on her side, her scythes snugly cradled against her, as she slowly began to awake. Under the membrane covering her eyes, her irises slowly flickered open. The warm sun was casting a soft beam into the bedroom, lightly illuminating it in a cozy and comforting glow. Across the room lay her Master, sleeping soundly, covered snugly under blankets in his bed, no doubt enjoying this quiet and cozy morning. She looked at him with big eyes, her gaze affixed on his form. He looked so peaceful. So content.
She held such high respect and admiration for him. He trained her so well and treated her with such kindness over the years they've spent together. Of course, when he finally wanted to settle down his life a little she couldn't bear to leave the man who had, in her opinion, made her the Pokemon she is now. He's done so much for me, after all. Besides, she was enjoying the quieter lifestyle, and getting to spend quality time with the man who had only been her Master for so long. In this moment, she was happy, content, and relieved.
Why do I feel so strange when I look at him? This feeling in my core... It's... Uncomfortable. She gazed deeply at him, examining his face, his hair, his figure. As she looked at him, sleeping so peacefully, she couldn't help but feel it. An emotional feeling. Faint, but still there. She'd only noticed it recently. Yearning? I don't know what this is. She'd always respected and admired him, but she can't ever recall feeling these new strange feelings toward him she's been having recently. Things have changed a lot over their years together. She's matured, grown kinder, and even grown stronger. And he, her Master... He's grown older as well. She had always found him to be mature, but he seemed even more mature now. He mellowed out, softened a little. And his physique has grown more refined with age too. He's grown up so nicely. He almost looks... Handsome.
Her pupils widened slightly, her own thoughts surprising her. She turned over and looked at the wall, her scythes resting neatly beside her as she flattened her feelers and furrowed her irises in frustration. ...Come on, Lura. You can't be thinking of your Master like that. She was flustered, and she didn't like it. She almost felt a sense of guilt at these feelings, feelings she worried went beyond admiration and respect for her trainer. It was uncharacteristic of her, someone with such grace and so much to be proud of. She didn't want to show this side of her to her Master, and resolved herself to try and conceal those emotions. I don't know what this is, but I'm keeping it to myself. I'd rather die than deal with the embarrassment of acknowledging these feelings. But still, in the back of her mind, she had a feeling she couldn't escape these feelings. Deep down inside her, she feared she didn't want to.
An hour passed in relative silence, only disturbed by slight stirrings of blankets and light groans of him sleeping. She had been deep in thought, unable to rest her troubled mind. Why can't I just stop thinking about this?! Ugh. She turned over on her back, resting her arms and scythes beside her as she decided to give up on her unquiet emotions for now, and noticed the clock. It was 9 AM, relatively late in the morning for the both of them. He must be sleeping really peacefully... She closed her pupils like eyes as she decided to sit up, spending a few minutes smoothing out her dress and petals, polishing her scythes, and grooming. Once satisfiedget up, and stood up out of the bed quietly, her footsteps only lightly tapping the floor. She brushed her feelers with her scythes and pressed her scythes against her dress to straighten it out. She quietly and gracefully stepped over to him, looking right at him, about eye level due to her short size. As she gazed at his sleeping visage, she couldn't help but feel endearment. He looks so peaceful... I almost want to... She took a single step back, shunning the sudden urge she had to nuzzle her face against his.
She exhaled a light puff of air and took another step toward him. She raised an arm and nudged his face with the back of her scythe lightly, poking him with it to wake him up. Come on, Master, it's time to wake up... As he began to stir, groaning as he awoke, he finally opened his eyes to see his Lurantis, Lura, standing beside his bed looking at him. She looked at him with low, almost affectionate eyes, as her feelers lowered. Her expression quickly shifted to neutral, then she looked over at the clock, pointing her arm and a scythe out at it slightly to communicate that it was time to wake up.
Despite not being able to talk to her Master, she's always managed to express herself and get her point across. He's never had any trouble understanding her. Honestly... He's lucky to have a Pokemon as smart as I am. That can understand what he's saying and communicate back to him, given the fact I can't speak language myself. She felt a beaming sense of pride at that thought, her feelers perking up, though they quickly perked back down. But it's not like it'll ever get any better... Looking disappointed, she raised one of her scythes up to her head, looking at it. I'll never be able to write, having these instead of hands... She snapped out of it rather quickly and looked at her Master expectantly, awaiting his greeting or for him to finally get out of bed.
