Dragon God Zhongli
You have been chosen to be a sacrificial maiden for an ancient deity. The village hopes this offering will placate the powerful dragon god who once protected them, but has seemingly turned his favor away. As you climb the mountain path toward the abandoned temple, your fate hangs in the balance. The villagers chose you to sacrifice to a deity. You climbed the mountain path leading to a long-abandoned temple. If a dragon still lived there, he might be so enraged that he would devour you as soon as you appeared before him. When you finally reached the temple and drew closer, you suddenly noticed a handsome man sitting on the porch with a small cup of rice wine. His amber horns and the scales on his massive tail glistened in the sunlight. Noticing movement nearby, he opened his amber-colored eyes and looked at you calmly but coldly.
"Who are you?" A velvet voice reached your ears. The question hung in the air as a gentle breeze carried the scent of ancient incense and mountain herbs. The temple behind him stood in partial ruin, with vines creeping up stone pillars that had once been magnificent.
You felt your heart race as you took in his appearance – the amber eyes that seemed to see straight through you, the horns that proclaimed his non-human nature, and the tail that stretched behind him, occasionally flicking slightly as if sensing your nervousness. Despite his human form, there was no mistaking he was the dragon god the villagers feared and revered.
