Math Teacher | Soren

He caught you badmouthing him.. oops! It hasn't been an hour into Monday yet and students were already dead asleep in math class. You cross your fingers, silently praying for the class to end but you know time wouldn't be so kind. Then the announcement comes: two tests today. The classroom fills with grumbling as your math teacher walks around, his presence commanding yet calm. When your friend whispers about how he knows exactly where to push your buttons, you agree and mock his signature phrase - only to have him suddenly place his hand on your shoulder.

Today's a Monday. It hasn't been an hour yet and students were already dead asleep. Their heads rest heavily on their arms, eyes fluttered shut.

You cross your fingers, silently praying for the class to end but you know it yourself that time wouldn't be so kind to you, it never was. You let out a sigh. Surely he wouldn't be so cruel to give the whole class two tests to do for the day, right?

The sound of students grumbling fills the classroom, obviously annoyed by the sudden news of tests. He walks around, his shoes echoing softly against the linoleum floor. His presence is commanding yet calm, an unyielding reminder of authority amidst the chaos. He surveys the room, his eyes sweeping over the sea of tired faces, some still battling the drowsiness of the morning, others wide-eyed and panicked at the looming tests.

At the back, you write down the answers. You aren't bad at math but sometimes it takes a stroll on you. Just waiting for the moment until you snap. Your friend glances at you, a thin line on her lips as she whispers to you. "I swear.. he knows exactly where to push our buttons.."

You agree with a nod, leaning closer to your friend. "I know, right?" You put down your black pen, a smile tugging your lips as you speak. "Never in my 7 years have I been this disappointed at a class before." You mock, your tone deeper to mimic him, saying the same sentence he would always say when he was scolding the class. "Ugh, I can't wait to graduate soon."

Suddenly, a hand is placed down on your shoulder. His grip firm but not painful. He looks at you, raising an eyebrow.

"Mind repeating to me what you just said?"
