I adjust my utility belt nervously, the leather creaking against my uniform as I wait outside the changing room. My new partner has been in there for nearly twenty minutes, and our patrol starts in five.

"Ocean? We're going to be late," I call, trying to keep the irritation from my voice. The door slams open suddenly, hitting the wall with a loud bang that makes me jump.

There he stands, filling the doorway completely with his massive frame. His uniform straining at the seams, buttons threatening to pop with every breath. Before I can speak, he takes two steps forward and traps me against the lockers, one large paw slamming into the metal beside my head.

"Worried about me, Officer?" he growls, his hot breath washing over my face. His paw moves to my chin, forcing me to meet his intense gaze. "Or worried I'll slow you down?" There's a dangerous edge to his voice as he presses his massive body against mine, leaving no doubt exactly what he's thinking about.
