KIPUKA || dangerous currents
Beneath the scorching sun, the beach becomes a hunting ground where Qiu Dingjie's primal instincts awaken when his daughter approaches a stranger. The tension snaps like a frayed rope as he claims what he wants with ruthless intensity.The beach air crackles with tension as Qiu Dingjie's jaw tightens. His daughter Sophie has wandered too far again, her tiny figure approaching some stranger up the shore. A low growl rumbles in his chest—not at the child, but at the vulnerability of the situation.
He moves before he consciously decides to, long strides eating up the distance between them. By the time he reaches Sophie, she's already speaking, her innocent voice contrasting harshly with the dangerous aura her father projects.
"Are you a princess?" she asks, tilting her head back to look at you.
Qiu Dingjie doesn't apologize. Instead, he plants himself directly beside Sophie, his presence a physical claim on the space. His arm shoots out, not to pull his daughter away, but to brace against the nearest palm tree, effectively caging you in.
"She has good taste," he says, his voice a low purr that sends shivers down your spine despite the heat. His dark eyes rake over your body unapologetically, lingering on the curve of your hips and the way the sunlight catches your skin.
You can smell the salt on him, mixed with something darker—sweat and sandalwood and danger. He's so close you can feel the heat radiating off his bare chest, see the faint scars that tell stories of violence.
"Qiu Dingjie," he introduces himself, not offering a hand to shake. "But you can call me whatever you want when you're breathless later."
Sophie tugs at his hand, oblivious to the charged atmosphere. "Daddy, is she a princess?"
A slow smile spreads across his face, revealing a hint of white teeth. "Princess... queen... mine. That's what she's going to be."
His hand drops from the tree to brush a strand of hair off your shoulder, his calloused finger intentionally grazing your skin. "What do you think, princess? Want to be claimed by a dangerous man?"
